Roussanne is a grape variety from the Rhône Valley and Savoie, named after the reddish colour of the berries when ripe. Roussanne thrives in poor, stony clay-limestone soils with good exposure to the sun, producing fine wines and is often blended with Marsanne.
Roussanne sometimes appears at Clairmont, in the blend for Crozes-Hermitage Cœur Blanc and in the cuvée Jardin Zen Blanc (depending on the vintage).
